About our concrete contractor business in Brookline

How I got into concrete
I learned concrete from my father, mixing and leveling wet concrete on his jobs long before I could drive the truck. I started this business in Brookline in 2013, and I still run the jobs myself. Brookline sits just outside Boston, and most of our calls here come from homeowners who've had concrete fail on them once and would rather not go through that again.
That's why we're known for driveways, steps and foundation work that gets planned properly before anyone orders a truck. Concrete doesn't get a second draft. If the base, the water or the timing is wrong, you find out a winter later, and the fix is a jackhammer. So I care most about the parts nobody sees once it's poured. You can see the rest of what we build on our home page.

What working with us looks like
You deal with the owner
I come out and look at the job myself, and our own crew does the work with me on site. The person who quoted your driveway is the one standing next to it on the day of the pour.
Estimates you can compare
Our estimates spell out what's in and what's not, from the digging out and the base to the finish on top. That way you can line ours up against other bids without guessing what someone left off.
Care instructions before we leave
Before we pack up, we tell you what the new concrete needs from you while it's curing, the wait while it hardens before it can take feet and then tires. We also tell you what to put down for ice that first winter, because the wrong salt is hard on a new slab.
Licenses, insurance and permits
Home Improvement Contractor registration
Massachusetts requires anyone who bids on or does work at an existing, owner-occupied home with one to four units to register as a Home Improvement Contractor, and that registration number has to appear on the contract and the permit. The state also requires a written contract for work estimated at $1,000 or more. We're fully licensed and insured.
Construction supervisor license and permits
In Brookline, the Building Department issues building permits, usually to state-licensed construction supervisors, and a new driveway needs one along with a photo or plans of the driveway. We check with the building office in your city before we book the job, pull the permit ourselves when one's needed and keep you posted. You can check any supervisor's license on the state licensing page.
